This weekend Sale FC travelled down to league leaders Stourbridge, who lost their first game last week 14-12 to Sheffield Tigers in a tight away game. The feeling was that the opening of their new 4G pitch, the sting of a narrow loss, their massive forward pack and the pace of the game might be too much for Sale FC who haven’t really fired this season.
In fact the first 10 minutes of the game certainly indicated that Sale were going to struggle against some top quality opposition. With a penalty miss in the first three minutes to Stourbridge, and then two minutes later a quick move down the line to their rapid 12 brought the full back on at pace to give Stourbridge five points with just five minutes on the clock.
