Under 6 Rugby
This is about FUN FUN FUN
The emphasis in Under 6 rugby is about having fun, learning to catch, pass and run all at the same time.
It is also about meeting new people and developing a real community spirit. Our Mini rugby section can often be seen at Heywood Road on a Saturday Afternoon waving the 1st team onto the pitch and getting into the rugby family by cheering the team on followed by a slice of pizza after the game. The 1st Team see these boys and girls as one of the most important groups in the club and have done a small thank you for there support here. They are the 16th Man!
They also like spending time with the club’s mascot Tricky The Mutt! A new addition to our team last year who has proved massively popular with all the children (even the grown up ones!)
The U6’s play non-contact tag rugby, but they don’t actually play in any competitive games vs other clubs, that starts when they get to U7’s and above. The emphasis at U6 is learning some basic skills and having a bit of fun.
