Sale FC 1861 Girls
Our girls wear the 1861 badge with pride... they are the future of our senior women's teams. We provide a fun, safe, and professional environment for girls of all abilities to learn the game and develop their skills.
Our Pathway to Senior Rugby
We have a clear and supportive pathway for girls to progress from junior rugby into our two senior women's teams:
- Sale FC 1861: Our 1st XV, competing in Championship North 2, the second tier of women's rugby in England.
- Sale FC 1861 Bees: Our 2nd XV, which provides a welcoming, competitive environment for girls to develop their skills and transition into adult rugby.
Training & Age Groups
Training is on Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM and Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM, both at our Carrington Training Ground. Any girls interested in joining are welcome at training anytime—we’ll make sure you learn the skills you need to get playing.
We have four dedicated girls-only age groups:
- Under 12s: (Years 6 & 7)
- Under 14s: (Years 8 & 9)
- Under 16s: (Years 10 & 11)
- Under 18s: (Years 12 & 13)
We frequently participate in Cheshire/Lancashire county events, giving our girls the opportunity to play and meet other girls from across the region. The Under 18s also have the opportunity to train alongside the senior 1861 team, preparing them for the step up.
A Family-Friendly Club
Sale FC prides itself on being a family-friendly club. The M&J section is often involved on Saturdays and Sundays at competitive matches, and a unique feature of games at the Morson Group Stadium is the half-time run-around on the main pitch.
