James Robins is mobbed after the last gasp winSale FC 22v 21 Rams, National League Division 1, Saturday 5th March 2022 Venue: CorpAcq Stadium (Heywood Road), Sale, Greater Manchester United Kingdom (Credit Image: Gareth Lyons for Sale FC 2022 ©)

This weekend for the third game in a row, Sale FC left it late for another last gasp win. Relying on a James Robins penalty to grab an unlikely victory from Rams 22-21. At one point, Sale FC were 16 points down against the 4th placed Rams who spent long periods of the game with possession and seemingly holding the upper hand. However, this is a team who appear to have no idea when to stop. The spirit of the team is epitomised by one of the coaches, Neil Briggs, who came on as a replacement for Jordan Tebbatt leading from the front despite picking up an injury himself. Despite the scoreline, the team stuck to their strategy, trusted each other and when James Robbins stepped up to take a penalty with time up, we saw yet another remarkable comeback at Heywood Road. Make no mistake, this was a get out of jail card. Rams dominated for large parts of the game and it took all the resilience of the dogs to snatch the victory on 81 minutes. We are currently in third place in the table and we only have six games left this season with four of those are at home!

This weekend, on our Ladies day, we have the resurgent Darlington Mowden Park visiting Heywood Road and we’re looking to get a massive crowd down.

We have a break for a few weeks and then on the 2nd April Cinderford travel up from the Forest of Dean.
