New Positions
As part of our long term growth and development we are reorganising specific strategic areas within the club. We are therefore, pleased to make a club announcement on the appointment of the following volunteers to the new positions at Sale FC Rugby.
Club Chairman Scott Bambrick said of the appointments.
“We would like to thank these volunteers for their continued commitment to Sale FC Rugby. Their efforts are helping to ensure that we continue to create a clear sustainable future for the club. To achieve this goal, we are streamlining key areas of operations. This will help deliver a better club experience for our members. It is important to remember, like the Exec, these appointments are all volunteers and your support of their efforts is important”
Chair of House Committee – Joanne Bambrick
Joanne has been a regular volunteer in the club over the past 5 years. She has been the sole organiser of our successful New Year’s Eve parties as well as our excellent Ladies Day. These events continue to bring both increased revenues and community engagement to the club. Joanne has played a key role in the successful improvement of the match day experience this season, with pre-match hospitality regularly being sold out. As Chair of the House committee Joanne reports to the Executive and continues to ensure that the committee works to the betterment of the club and its members.
Vice Chair Rugby (Social) – Rahul Roy
Rahul is well known within the club, as a player, match day manager and coach. In this new role, Rahul will support our Chair of Rugby Paul Kelly and take a lead in the continued growth of our social rugby. This will see Rahul work as a transition coach for Colts moving into senior rugby with the Vikings. He will oversee the growth of the Viking team and have oversight of the VETs team.
Vice Chair Rugby (Women & Girls) – Paula Bradbury
Paula is currently the head coach of Sale FC 1861 and is an ex-player. In the new role Paula will support the Chair of Rugby to develop Women and Girls rugby at the club. The main focus of the role is to increase participation of girls playing rugby at the club. As part of this she will help launch our U12s U14s & U16s Girls teams.
Vice Chair Rugby (Seniors) – Matt Griffiths
Matt is currently coaching the U15s, Colts and Sale FC 1861. He had an excellent playing career playing for Wasps, Blackheath and England 7s and brings this experience to the teams he coaches. Matt’s focus on coaching will continue and he will also support Paul Kelly in other aspects of running the Rugby Section. When required he will stand in for the Chair of Rugby.
Vice Chair M&Js (Minis) – James Fletcher
James has been a stalwart of the Minis sections for years. Without him we would simply not have pipeline of M&Js coming through. James already has oversight of the Minis section (U6s – U8s) and this position now formalises it. James will continue to look to grow the Minis and through the growth of Trickys Pups (U5s). We hope this will see even more kids playing rugby at Sale FC.
Vice Chair M&Js (Rugby) – Pete Tomlinson
Pete has been a coach in the M&Js for over 8 years and is currently coaching the U15s. He is also one of the constant volunteers we have at the club. In this new role, Pete will utilise his experience as an excellent M&Js coach by directly supporting our chair of M&Js Elizabeth Dockry in the development of all teams and coaches within the M&Js section.
Vice Chair M&Js (Carrington) – Carolyn Tomlinson
Carolyn has been Team Manager in the M&Js for the past 4 years and a constant volunteer on both 1st XV match days and Sunday down at Carrington. Along with a dedicated team, Carolyn has played a key role in ensuring that our Carrington Club House and experience for the M&Js, Colts, Vikings, 1861 and 1st XV players has improved beyond recognition. Carolyn will have oversight of the Carrington Club house and look to continue the excellent work of the past 12 months.
