We have a few injury based changes and a few coming back from injury. Again, the strength in depth on the bench may well be the key to this game. It’s also a first National 2 North appearance for Kennet O’Neill who was injured in pre-season.
Preview
In four outings we’ve beaten South Leicester just once. Last season down in Leicestershire, we salvaged 2 points getting a try and losing bonus point. The return fixture in Sale was a dogfight where we managed to scrape what could only be described as a “win”, but only just, with Scott Rawlings securing the 20-14 victory with 20 minutes to go.
This season Sale FC have blown very hot, and sometimes cold. Against Sedgley Park, we were outplayed on a very wet pitch and last weekend we we had to come from behind to secure the win in the second half. However, when we’ve been firing, we have scored and our strength in depth is better than it has been for years. Even with 5-6 first line players missing last week, players stepped up and filled the gaps.
South Leicester this season are only behind us on points difference. Although they beat Sedgley Park, last week they lost out to Sheffield Tigers in a tight game 29-22. South Leicester are going to be tough to beat on the road and this is anybody’s game.
