Century of points sees Sale overcome Moseley
Both Sale FC and Birmingham Moseley came into this game having started the season with bonus point wins.
On a dry, humid afternoon, the visitors hit the front first as Ethan Priest picked up an overthrown lineout to bury over the line; Harry Read converted. 0-7
The Dogs then hit rampage-mode with some effervescent attacking play which saw debutant, David Opoku-Fordjour, grab two tries before Mark Dixon, Josh Brown and Joe Green all went over; Fly-half, James Mitchell, with the perfect 5 from 5 from the tee. 35-7
Moseley had the final say of the first half though as Fin Smith barged over from metre out with Read on target again. HT 35-14
The away side started the second half well and closed the gap with another forward-led try through Will Masters-Safe but Sale looked to have put the result beyond doubt as more incisive rugby saw Osian Roberts and Tom Walsh over the whitewash. 45-21
Undaunted, back came the Midlanders with two tries in two minutes – the first a converted rolling maul try from Ben Pogson, and the second a break from Ardal Yallop. 45-35
The possibility of an amazing comeback was put to bed quickly as the Dogs scored two more tries through Andrew Lamb, the second from fully 65m, and Walsh then grabbed his second; All 3 tries were converted by Green and Mitchell (2). FT 66-35
A quite incredible game of rugby which kept the healthy crowd entertained from the first minute to the last.
