Recap
Sale 1861 Women 17-24 Watsonians Ladies
Saturday 19th January
Two tries from the visiting Scots within the final three minutes saw the 1861 go down in a brave performance against the highly-placed visitors. Unconverted tries from Bex Wilson and Charlotte Smith put the home side ten points up within the first 26 minutes, but Watsonians scored through Abbie Billie, converted by skipper Nicola Nightingale, eight minutes before half time.
An Allie Tucker try twenty minutes into the second half put the visitors ahead, but Meg Kirby’s converted try four minutes later restored the 1861 lead at 17-12. Then followed the decisive tries from Molly Wright and Rachel Bragg, the first converted by Nightingale.
There are talks about a return North of the Border later in the season.
