DOR Jonathan Keep provides his thoughts ahead of Thursday.

DOR Jonathan Keep

“The squad is largely unchanged with only a few positional tweaks from last week.

We know that it will be a huge challenge against Birmingham who are still trying to maintain as much pressure on Rotherham and ourselves as they can and will be fighting for every point as we are.

A win for us will see us getting ever nearer to the 62 points we achieved last season which saw us safe for another season at National One.”

It’s hard to believe that we are already down to our final 3 fixtures of the season here at the CorpAcq Stadium, which has seen us build an impressive record for the season to date of 11 fixtures, winning 9 and losing only 3 to Cinderford, Rosslyn Park and Rams.

In those games to date we have amassed a total of 42 of our 59 league points, so we are looking forward to another challenge today here and receiving the cheer of the 16th man from our supporters as always to get us over the line!

On the flip side to the above, our form away from home continues to be poor, with another loss away to DMP last week in a fixture that we all came away from feeling somewhat frustrated that we didn’t take the full points on offer.

The common theme in these fixtures is that we seem to play some great rugby for 50-60 minutesout of the 80 and fall away for the remainder. This is something that we are conscious of and working on to improve by any small margin to give ourselves the best chance on away days
