Sale FC Rugby Club are delighted to announce that Aoife McKenna has re-signed for Sale 1861 for another year. The captain of Sale 1861, has lead the team to an undefeated season in their very first year. Before the advent of the Pandemic, they were on course to make the double of league and cup. Although crowned league champions, the cup was eventually cancelled and the women had to be satisfied with beating everyone put in front of them.
Speaking to Aoife today, she says
Last season Sale 1861 made a bold statement as we debuted ourselves in a competitive league. I am very excited to continuing working hard with an incredible collection of talented players and coaches as we continue onwards. I am very proud to be a part of this team’s journey to date and look forward to this season and the challenges it will bring.
