Sale FC Run Rampant in the Second Half

On a beautiful day in Trafford, Sale FC turned on the style to run in nine tries from 8 different players.  One of the defining characteristics of this team during the 2016-2017 season is that even without the instrumental Andy Hughes and powerful running Scott Rawlings sidelined through injury, we still managed to effectively put more than fifty points passed newly relegated Preston Grasshoppers without really ever moving out of third gear. Sale FC succumb to Caldy 2nd half comeback

Sale FC were away at the races in a massive first half on a glorious day in Caldy.  With tries and penalties it looked like it might be a day for the men in blue and white.  Unfortunately, three yellow cards and a massive fightback from the deserving league champions saw us fall tantalisingly short, or indeed just the width of an upright. Top of the table clash this weekend

This weekend we are away to Caldy for a top of the table clash.  Caldy and Sale FC are both guaranteed at least a playoff place in May for promotion to National One.  Caldy however are 10 points clear at the top in the driving seat for automatic promotion.  The only real chance Sale FC have of catching them with the 15 points left available this season, is with a win on Saturday. This would be a tall order against a team who haven’t lost since the opening game this season.  Last time out versus Caldy, Sale struggled with the pace of the visitors late in the second half and went down to a very quick experienced team and motivated team.  Sale, however are on fine form and haven’t lost a game in 2017 and go to Caldy with a strong team.  This is going to be a massive game.

Sale Jets Win at Heywood Road

A pulsating match last night at Heywood Road saw a strong Sale Jets team win against Newcastle Falcons with a bonus point 29-12.  Stars on display included Peter Stringer, David Seymour, Sam Tuitupou, Johnny Leota as well as Sale FC players Matt Postlethwaite and the Captain on the evening Andy Hughes.  I managed to catch up with the boys after the game for a brief chat.
