Too Little Too Late for The Dogs as their winning run comes to an end.
Jonathan Keep announces his squad ahead of crucial fixture against RAMS Rugby this Saturday- 7th Dec 2019. Rams currently reside in 3rd, with Sale FC in 9th and pushing. A win this weekend sets up The Dogs for a Top 6 push going into the final game of 2019.
SATURDAY 7th December 2019, K.O. 2pm
Heywood Rd- CorpAcq Stadium
The Dogs continue their impressive run of form, with another emphatic win over Hull Ionians, bringing Sale up to 9th and counting, in National League 1. A win this weekend introduces a Top 6 prospect heading into our final fixture of 2019 on the 21st DEC vs Rotherham. Looking to this weekend, The Dogs expect the toughest battle this year with RAMS achieving plenty, sitting at 3rd, after promotion from National League 2 only last season. This weekend we are closely working with our affiliate club Sale Sharks- granting ticket holders for the Exeter game and Season Ticket members free entry. This is to help generate enthusiasm within the local area, maintaining our relationship, as well as giving back to families this Christmas. Catch up with Director of Rugby Jonathan Keep and Scott Bambrick- Director as they provide their thoughts ahead of this heavily anticipated fixture.
The Team, as expected, features few changes with the squad performing well in recent weeks. Ewan Ashman returns at Hooker again after coming off the bench against Hull, whilst Dan Birchall and Matt Talaese remain as Props with Ollie Longmore, Cal Ford and Jake Pope on the bench to provide some additional physicality. The rest of the pack remains unchanged, Stone Priestley-Nangle and Jake Barron have formed a great partnership remaining at locks, with Captain Andrew Hughes at 6 and Teddy Leatherbarrow (7). They are joined by Sam Dugdale, who also featured last weekend, he looks to extend his form with Jarad Williams out with injury. Matt Bradley remains at 9, partnering with impressive Chris Johnson who combines with James Williams and Fergus Mulchrone in the centres, a lethal combo of pace and precision. Patrick Ah Van is in at 11 with Hat Trick hero Tom Brady at 14, who also looks to continue his stellar performance- a tough one to match. Solid Jonty Rawcliffe remains at Fullback with Jack Moorhouse an eager Game Changer ready to explode off the bench.

The Sale FC squad has been announced ahead of this weekend’s away clash at Hull Ionians. A gritty Northern battle is expected against 2nd from bottom of Nat 1.
SATURDAY 30th November 2019
2pm- Brantingham Park.
With an exhilarating result against top of the table Richmond, the Sale FC side remains fairly unchanged- as expected. The front pack features little change with Ollie Longmore coming in for injured Juan Pablo Rivas at Hooker, whilst Talaese and Birchall remain. Similarly, the second row remains unchanged after a fantastic paired performance- Stone Priestley-Nangle and Jake Barron again looking to dominate alongside their pack. The back row also remains unchanged with some inspirational performances from the lads recently. Matt Bradley remains at 9, again without Sharks counterpart Raffi Quirke who has been called up for England U20s national duty. Nonetheless, the backs remains unchanged with the Dogs sizzling in recent weeks. Chris Johnson mans the line after his class display against Richmond, earning himself our Man of the Match as well as Nat1 ‘Player of the Week’. Well deserved to say the least. Rawcliffe remains at fullback with electric Fergus Mulchrone on the bench.
The bench features newcomer Ewan Ashman- Scotland U20s & Sharks Hooker- as well as Jake Pope, Sam Dugdale, Jack Moorhouse and Fergus Mulchrone. Effective game changers eager to make an impact.
