Team Announcement- Richmond Preview

Jonathan Keep announces his Sale FC side against top of the table Richmond Rugby in an expected fierce National 1 clash

SATURDAY 23rd November 2019- 2pm K.O. Heywood Rd

This week the squad features many changes with huge disappointment surrounding the Chinnor fixture. A poor first half left the Dogs 38 points the lesser, yet despite a ruthless encounter, The Sale FC Dogs fought back bravely in the second half with an impressive come back to 38-31, but time was their enemy- wishing for an extra 10minutes! The defence was shambolic in the first half yet dominant in the second. Truly was a game of two halves!

The front row almost completely changes, with only Talaese remaining from Chinnor. Dan Birchall returns at prop whilst Juan Pablo Rivas returns to hooker, a powerful front 3. The second row pairing of Stone Priestley-Nangle and Jake Barron remains the same, with more hair than the entire pack. The back row also remains unchanged with Andrew Hughes (c) and Teddy Leatherbarrow in at locks with the almighty Jarad Williams at 8. Matt Bradley remains at 9 without his game changing counterpart Raffi Quirke. But, a familiar partnership with Chris Johnson returning to Fly-Half. Johnny Leota and Jeremy To’a partner up in the centre of the field (12 & 13) with a strong Samoan presence, looking to dominate the middle of the park, whilst Patrick Ah Van holds 11 and Tom Brady at 14. Jonty Rawcliffe returns at fullback after some impressive features. Our game changers; Cal Ford, Ollie Longmore, Jake Pope, Rhys Davies and Jack Moorhouse all looking to impact In what is expected to be a fierce encounter against top of the table Richmond.
