This Saturday, Sale FC Rugby head down to Blackheath for an away match with a KO of 2pm. Blackheath are the oldest open Rugby Club in the world and as such were affectionately known as “Club” due to all other teams at the time being in Schools or closed organisations.
After rupturing his Achilles last season, Ollie Longmore is back in the side. There are three changes from last weeks loss against Birmingham Moseley. A Simon Griffiths injury opens the door for Ollie Longmore to come in and Dan Birchall is back in the match day after a week off last week.
Clearly not a direct swap, but Johnny Leota has been loaned to the Sharks for their match against Saracens this evening. In starting changes Matt Sturgess comes into the match day squad while Matt Bradley moves onto the bench.
Blackheath are aiming to make this weekend at home their fifth win in a row after good wins against Caldy, Birmingham Moseley and Rosslyn Park. After our disappointing loss against Birmingham Moseley, we are aiming to bounce back against one of the strongest teams in the league.
