Sale see off Leeds to claim second bonus point win in a row

Leeds Tykes headed to the Morson Stadium looking for their first win of the campaign whilst Sale FC were hoping to back up their bonus point win from the previous week against Rams.

The visitors started the better and opened the scoring in the 3rd minute with a try from Henry Macnab after good work from Seremaia Turagabeci. 0-5

Sale hit the front in the 14th minute as Toby Wilson blasted through the defence and offloaded perfectly for Harry Davey to score his first try for the club; Joe Green converted. 7-5

A brilliant 40m break from Peter Vickers created a try for winger, Jon O’Donnell, before Edward Crossland slotted a penalty for the visitors. 12-8

Two late tries from the Dogs gave them a comfortable lead at the break though as Davey ghosted through for his second, converted by Green, and O’Donnell grabbed his brace in the corner. HT 24-8

Tykes started the second half on the front foot and reduced the arrears in the 44th minute when Jonathan Teague pushed over the whitewash; Crossland made no mistake from the tee. 24-15

The Yorkshiremen kept Sale pinned in for much of the first twenty minutes of the half, but the Dogs eventually pulled away with further scores from Alfie Longstaff and Fergus Mulchrone. FT 38-15

Plenty of territory for the visitors but, ultimately, Sale were clinical when it mattered to earn the win.
