Dan Birchall – 200 Appearances
A cornerstone of the squad and a leader both on and off the field, Dan Birchall has reached an extraordinary milestone with his 200th cap. Known for his work rate, physicality, and loyalty to the club, Dan’s journey with Sale FC has been defined by resilience and relentless standards coming back from an Achilles injury last season to being selected for the Barbarians.
Across his 200 appearances, he’s played a major part in key promotions, historic victories, and countless moments that have shaped the club’s modern identity. A player who gives everything in every shirt he wears, Dan has become a favourite and admired for his graft and the pride he brings to representing Sale FC.
This milestone is a testament not only to his talent but also his longevity and professionalism — qualities that set an example for every young player at the club.

Dan said “It’s been a great honour to represent this famous club on so many occasions as well as reaching 400 senior league games across my playing career. It’s been an incredible journey with an abundance of triumph and challenge along the way.
I’m incredibly grateful to all those who have travelled this road with me and given me the opportunity to continue to enjoy this great privilege.”
Meanwhile Cal hits 100 appearances for the dogs.
