Congratulations to the Cheshire Men’s County 1st XV who are heading to Twickenham on Sunday to take on Cornwall in the Bill Beaumont County Championship Cup Final.
The route to the final has seen wins against Eastern Counties, Yorkshire and Durham. With Cheshire recording a fantastic 20-21 away win against a very strong Yorkshire side, the place in the final came down to the final round of matches with Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cheshire all with a chance of reaching the Twickenham Final. The final weekend saw Yorkshire edge a tight game away against Lancashire coming away 20-26 victors. This opened the door for Cheshire booking their place in the final with a 52-7 win against Durham at Birkenhead Park.
Sale FC have played their part in Cheshire’s success this year with Stone Priestley-Nangle, Jack Moorhouse, Ryan Parkinson and soon to be England Counties tourist Neil Briggs all playing their part on the field and Tote Howcroft and Jonathan Keep being involved in a coaching capacity.
The final takes place at 17:30 this weekend immediately after the England V Barbarians game.
