Table toppers, Plymouth Albion, travelled North to take on 3rd placed Sale FC at the Morson Stadium.
The Dogs started like a house on fire with two tries in the first ten minutes from outside centre, Osian Roberts, with assists from winger, David Opoku-Fordjour; James Robins converted both. 14-0
The visitors responded a few minutes later as the forwards bombarded the line before number 8, Sam Daly, barged over with Iwan Jenkins adding the extras. 14-7
Sale lost Opoku-Fordjour to a yellow card after a high tackle and couldn’t quite see out the ten minutes with 14 players as a converted try from Morgan Eames levelled the scores. HT 14-14
Boosted by their first half comeback, Albion scored early in the second period as winger, Noah Fenton, continued his prolific start to the season with a try after Sale failed to deal with a high ball. 14-21
Jenkins extended the lead with a penalty kick from 35m and Fenton then grabbed his second, strolling in from 30m. 14-31
Both sides were reduced to 14 men in the 65th minute as Sale’s Tye Raymont and Albion’s Eames were sin-binned and, just as the players returned, the visitors lost Angus Hodges after another infringement.
The Dogs took advantage as a strong rolling maul took Dafydd Rees over the whitewash but, despite throwing caution to the wind, they couldn’t make late pressure pay as Albion took a deserved win. FT 21-31
