📰 Will Addison Signs as Player-Coach at Sale FC

A versatile back known for his calm leadership and attacking flair, Will’s return to Manchester marks a full-circle moment — reuniting with the Sale community and embracing a new chapter in his rugby journey.

“We’re absolutely delighted to bring in someone of Will’s calibre,” said Director of Rugby Jonathan Keep. “His playing pedigree speaks for itself, but just as importantly, he’s a natural mentor and will be a huge influence on our young group.”

The 32-year-old will take up a dual role, contributing both on the field and as part of the coaching setup, where he’ll work closely with the club’s backline and emerging talent.

“I’m really excited to be joining such a brilliant club and have the opportunity to cut my teeth as a young coach.” said Addison. “I am sure that Coaching and playing alongside plenty of my former team mates will make the experience even more enjoyable”.

Addison earned international honours with Ireland, earning his first cap in 2018 and touring with the squad under Joe Schmidt. At provincial level, he made over 70 appearances for Ulster, and played more than 90 times for Sale Sharks, where he also captained the side. The Real Reason Will Addison Was Left Out Of Ireland's 31-Man Rugby World Cup Squad

💙 Welcome, Will.
