The 1st XV travel to Winnington Park on Saturday to play the rearranged league game postponed from the 4th February because of a frozen pitch.

Whilst we have continued our excellent run in 2012 with wins over Tyldesley, New Brighton, Hoylake, Ashton, & Orrell, the new year has not been kind to Winnington Park with them losing all four of their games to date against Hoylake, Liverpool Collegiate, Wigan & Tyldesley.

	Quotes:-

	Director of Rugby, Richard Boundy

" We weren't looking to strengthen too much but we are in build mode for next season. Scott Harrison and Christian Lillie are well known to the management and bring real quality from higher levels. They will be key to Sale over the next two or three seasons. Matty Cozens is a young lad with genuine promise. He will get every chance with us to push his rugby career as far as he wants. He is a real natural talent.

Kevin Penny and Ryan Clayton won't need much of an introduction to super league fans. Both are new to rugby union but their obviously huge range of talents will be fantastic for Sale. Already their professional approach at training has been a massive boost to the group.

It shows that the Sale F.C. model is attractive to lads looking to further their rugby ambitions. We are a club that is going places and people are beginning to understand that. With lads moving from Sale F.C. to the Jets, and even the Sharks in two cases, our club is a real stepping stone to a rugby career. Our coaching and facilities are second to none and the support we receive from the clubs board emphasises the club's ambitions"

	Head Coach, Tom Hughes

"I'm really pleased to have these boys on board. I'm sure all the players will buy into the Sale F.C. culture and ethic that we have created so far this season. Working and training with quality players brings an energy to training sessions and to the whole club. Sale F.C. is all about developing players and ensuring we are always moving towards the next level of professionalism. These signings show the club's intent to not only develop players but compete immediately in all competitions. The squad is starting to look as we want it to as we close out this season and aim to win level 6 and move into level 5."

1st XV pass 1000 points and 2nd XV win two matches in a weekend

The 1st XV put in a fast paced performance to pass the 1,000 point barrier in this 12 try demolition of a hard working Orrell side. Needing 38 points to reach the magical figure it was Andy Rowley's third try of the afternoon that put us exactly on the mark just over half an hour into the game. Not to be out done Josh Allan claimed a hat-trick of tries as the backs had a field day in this 70-15 win.

At Carrington, the 2nd's racked up 51 points to outclass Anselmians 2's with new signing Kevin Penny scoring four tries on debut. As a result of this win the side is now just 49 points short of the four-figure mark.

On Sunday the 2nd's travelled to West Park (St. Helens) for Round 3 of the Raging Bull Trophy and ensured a place in the Quarter Finals with a 33-24 win. Joe Trigg with a couple of tries and Dave Bolton with 13 points from a "full house" of a try, conversion, penalty and drop goal led the way against against a tough Park side.

Past Players and officials from both clubs will be in attendance at a pre-match lunch before Sale's 1st XV take on Orrell in a South Lancs. & Cheshire Division 1 league fixture kicking off at 2.15pm.
