New signing makes 1st XV debut
Sale F.C. are delighted to have acquired the services of former Broughton Park full back Ronan O'Brien who came on as replacement for the last quarter of the game against Hoylake last Saturday. This acquisition further enhances the quality of the Sale squad as we continue to build for the future, and we are confident that Ronan's inclusion will have a big impact on our plans.
Speaking after Saturday's match against Hoylake, Head Coach Tom Hughes said:-
"I'm absolutely delighted that a player of Ronan's quality has decided to join Sale F.C. I've known Ronan for years now having been on the wrong side of his talents and I can't wait to see what he can do in a Sale shirt. The whole club was surprised when he appeared at a training session and instantly showed us the attributes and ability that he has. Ronan joins what is already a fantastic group of players and will only add to the already fierce competition for places. It's what keeps us all sharp at this time of year!"
Ronan added:-
"I couldn't pass up the opportunity to play at Sale. The facilities at Carrington, the standard of player and the coaching team is really impressive and I feel I can add something to the group with my experience at higher levels. I've known Richard and Tom from previous encounters and I'm excited about the buzz around the place and I'm really looking forward to helping out the team this season and next."
