Fergus Mulchrone Returns To Heywood Road

After playing Premiership and Championship rugby with London Irish for the last six years, Fergus Mulchrone returns to his old stomping ground at Heywood Road. He’ll be rejoining old team mates from Sale FC Ryan Parkinson and Jack Moorhouse to play National One Rugby in the North West.

Fergus plays outside centre, wing or full back which strengthens our backline choices significantly next season.

When we spoke to Fergus he was excited to move back up to the area, having grown up in Wilmslow playing M&J’s there, then moving to Altrincham Kersal and then Sale FC Colts.

Fergus Says he can’t wait to get back up to Cheshire next week where he’s preparing for his wedding this summer. As a marketing graduate he’s also looking to use his skills and contacts to move into Sports Marketing.

I look forward to the battle with Ferg for the 12 shirt next season. He has a fairly decent CV but not quite the 50% of trophies vs appearance record I have. So he knows he’s up against it. We’ll see what happens.

Ryan has 30 appearances for Sale FC Rugby this season 28 in the back row and two at outside centre…….
