Chinnor Match Preview

Director of Rugby- Jonathan Keep has announced the squad for their National League 1 (Third Tier) encounter against Chinnor RFC.

Saturday 16th November 2019- K.O. 3pm.  Rectory Pavilion, Oxfordshire.

There are not many changes from the squad that beat Darlington Mowden Park the previous week. To catch up on all the highlights & Trylights follow below.

Jake Pope returns to the front row, whilst Ollie Longmore and Matt Talaese remain unchanged. Stone Priestley-Nangle comes in at lock, pairing with Jake Barron in the row. The Back-row remains unchanged as well with Andrew Hughes (6), Teddy Leatherbarrow (7) and Jarad Williams (8)- a strong pack, looking to dominate in a physical encounter.

The Backline remains unchanged with James Williams pairing with Scrum Half Matt Bradley, with his replacement Raffi Quirke on the bench- looking to bring some heat. The infamous Johnny Leota and Fergus Mulchrone continue to shine in the centre of the park at inside and outside centres. Whilst the wingers in Patrick Ah’ Van and Tom Brady continue to impress, with Jonty Rawcliffe in at Fullback.

Our game changers include; Callum Ford, Sam Dugdale, Jeremy To’a- returning for his first game back after a shoulder injury and Raffi Quirke.

A solid squad as we look to take points from a team positioned 5th in the league.

We hear from Director of Rugby- Jonathan Keep as he prepares his team for a tough encounter down South:

“We are anticipating an extremely difficult fixture away from home this weekend at Chinnor as you would expect to be the case. They have only had four home fixtures during this campaign to date, having lost one of them against Rotherham by 2 points during October and come into this game off the back of a draw against second in the league Rosslyn Park last week. Results this season for both us and them are similar, with both having secured five wins from our first ten fixtures and scored/conceded a similar number of points, but, yet six league positions stand between us. The squad have trained well this week and we are looking forward to the fixture and putting our best foot forward. Both sides look to be evenly match on paper, so lets see what tomorrow brings!”

The Team travel down to Oxfordshire tomorrow morning to try and continue a run of form which has evaded many teams in this competitive National League 1.
